Church History

First Romanian Pentecostal Church is the first Romanian congregation that was established by four families in the Seattle area in May 1987. It was later incorporated as a nonprofit organization with the Secretary of State in Olympia, Washington. Through various Romanian publications and by word of mouth, news of a congregation forming in the Seattle area began to spread across Romanian community in America.

The Church membership grew steadily. In the first years the Church was considered to have a “home mission” status with Assembly of God organization.

In 1991 the Church members decided not to affiliate with the Assembly of God organization and became independent. It was at this time that the Church membership decided to buy a two acre property that had an old building on site.

At the time of the two acre purchase the church membership had increased to 120 adult members. The site address is 8315 NE 155^th Street Kenmore, Washington.

In 1993, we completed a substantial remodel of the church building. Since 1993 we have seen a steady growth in church membership and attendance.

In 1997, we purchased a property that is adjacent to our current location. The additional land purchased was approximately 27,000 sq ft. In 2001, we purchased yet another adjacent property and the two additional properties are currently being used as overflow parking lots.

In October 2003, we commenced building an 8,500 sq ft addition to our structure. The addition offered the Church the much needed office spaces, classrooms, and fellowship halls. With this addition in May of 2005, we increased our facility to 15,280 sq ft of church building space.

In September of 2009 we celebrated the construction of a new sanctuary that has 7,000 sq ft and accommodates nearly 700 people. The church facility has 18,000 sq ft. currently, the church has a total of 630 adult members and 520 children.
